Trinity Beach Bulldogs AFL Field
Connected sports lighting controls for community sport
Four high mast poles on a long-range BLE mesh, giving club volunteers scene control from a phone and authorised staff secure remote access without a site visit.

The project
Working with the RapidLED Projects team and HJC Electrics as the electrical contractor, Tecmor delivered a wireless sports lighting control system for the AFL field, providing a modern, connected platform for controlling the site’s high mast LED floodlighting.
The system was designed around the Casambi BLE mesh ecosystem, giving the club simple day-to-day lighting control, remote access and a scalable platform for future expansion. By eliminating the need for communications cabling between lighting poles, the installation reduced infrastructure requirements while providing reliable wireless communications across the entire playing field.
Each of the four high mast poles is equipped with a BLE long range DALI controller housed within a Tecmor EdgeBox enclosure and associated control hardware. Every pole operates as both an intelligent lighting controller and a wireless mesh communication node. With pole spacing of approximately 130 metres, the Casambi mesh provides reliable communications between all lighting poles without the need for additional control wiring.
Simple for volunteers, open for support
Lighting is controlled through the Casambi mobile application, allowing authorised users to quickly select pre-configured scenes for training, competition or maintenance activities. The intuitive interface provides simple operation for club volunteers and facility managers while removing the complexity associated with traditional lighting control systems.
To enable remote management, gateway functionality can be enabled through the app loaded on a smart device connected to the network on site. This allows authorised personnel to securely access the lighting system from anywhere, providing remote monitoring, scene control, diagnostics and system support without requiring a site visit.
The control platform has also been designed with future expansion in mind. Features such as automated scheduling, energy monitoring and broader smart facility integration can be incorporated using the existing platform, protecting the club’s investment over the long term.
Engineered for Australian sporting environments
Designed specifically for Australian sporting environments, the system combines Tecmor’s IP-rated EdgeBox enclosures with industrial-grade control hardware and long-range wireless communications to deliver a reliable, low-maintenance lighting control solution that supports the ongoing operation of the Trinity Beach Bulldogs AFL Field.
